In the early-1940’s, the island’s owners built an aquaculture farm for the purpose of raising commercial seafood and freshwater fish.There were six fresh water lakes and a lake that was rotated between freshwater and saltwater that was built as part of the farm.For years, the owners, under the name Marineland Farms, commercially harvested numerous species of seafood and freshwater fish, including lobster, crab, shrimp, crayfish, fresh water bass, perch, brim, and catfish. Jekyll Wharf Marina We are located in the Historic District of Jekyll Island, just across from The Jekyll Club Hotel. We have been in operation since 1996 offering dolphin tours, ecological tours, fishing and docking.
Our 40 passenger boats are US Coast Guard Inspected, and each have a sun cover and bathroom. Our Captains are licensed and insured.
Don Drury
Don Drury is a singer/songwriter who grew up and lives on the coast of Georgia and has spent many days on Raccoon Key and Jekyll Island. The influences of the Georgia coast are not only evident in his music, but in every facet of his life. He has earned his living performing live acoustic music throughout the southeastern United States since his college days at The University of Georgia in Athens. Aside from his 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars, he plays the Dobro/Slide Guitar and often accompanies his songs with the harmonica. He enjoys and performs music from every style and genre available, from folk, country, rock, country/rock, blues, jazz, reggae, to Americana and beyond. More than a merely a musician, Don is a consumate entertainer. He draws his audiences into his performances through interacting with them. He achieves this through cleverly timed dialogue and by manipulating or altering song lyrics to add to their enjoyment.
